With a steering group drawn from a rich pool of successful local manufacturing business leaders, actively supported by national and local business support organisations, CKMA focuses on what is current and relevant on behalf of its members.
Who is CKMA?
CKMA is a membership group of manufacturing businesses centred on a key manufacturing cluster of small and medium-sized manufacturing firms in and around West Yorkshire. Members of CKMA tend to be specialists in the field, becoming an integral part of successfully functioning strategic supply chains in the UK and global economies such as aerospace, automotive, power rail, and much more. innovation and specialist, niche machining capabilities are common factors to their diverse group of members.
At CKMA, manufacturers in the local area meet together to share their best practices, experiences and knowledge. Their purpose is to promote continuous business improvement in manufacturing across West Yorkshire and beyond. This is done through several initiatives which attract and engage with talent, supporting effective skills training, driving productivity and encouraging resilient local supply chains, to underpin the region's economy and manufacturing reputation in a global marketplace.
Through creating close partnerships and collaborations in West Yorkshire, CKMA aims to enable more employers are committed to future-proofing skills via apprenticeships to learn how to increase success rates by adopting best practice methodologies within their schemes, leverage insight and work towards getting recognised as excellent employers via Kitemark accreditations.
