It’s been over a month since we welcomed our latest new starter, Joseph Reid to our Automotive & Fleet Recruitment team. Having previously worked in electrical engineering and then moving into recruitment, Joe has brought a wealth of experience to the team having run his own recruitment business for several years.
Working alongside Rodger Morley and Thomas Chant, he has focused his first month on transitioning his existing clients, settling into E3R and assisting his team in recruiting new and existing Automotive & Fleet roles.
As always, we enjoy getting to know our new starters and catching up with them to see how their first month has been. Read below to find out more about Joe and his role within E3 Recruitment.
Can you give us some background on your career and what led to you joining E3R?
I come from an electrical engineering background and found myself working for and eventually running a recruitment agency specialising in manufacturing and construction. It all happened quite quickly when I looked for a new role, I was looking for a good fit in regards to similar industries I have worked in, but I also wanted to join a team that was diverse with the roles and sectors they cover. After speaking with Tracie, James, Andrew and Rodger it was a no-brainer to join the team!
Tell us about your role and responsibilities in our Automotive & Fleet Recruitment team
In my role, I am lucky enough to be able to be looking after and recruiting for some existing clients as well as helping with new and existing Automotive & Fleet roles coming in daily. I am responsible for seeing candidates through the full recruitment process, from beginning to end, on a temp to perm and perm basis.
How has your first month been at E3R?
My first month at E3R has gone so quickly! I am finding myself getting more and more familiar with the systems and everyone here is so helpful.
Tell us a little bit about yourself
I have recently become a Dad to a 3-month-old baby boy called Roman. My favourite thing to do between working and juggling Dad life is watching sports as there’s not much I don’t like; Formula 1, Cricket, and mainly football, as I am also a long-suffering Leeds United fan. I also like watching a good boxset, name a boxset and I’ve probably seen it!
What aspects of your role are you most excited about and what are you looking forward to?
One of the main aspects I’m looking forward to in my role is building a strong temp book up with existing and new clients. I am also looking forward to working on more specialist roles on a perm basis, along with trying to bring more variety to the division.
What initially attracted you to a career in recruitment?
I’m not sure what it was because when I started, I hated being on the phone! However, after doing it for a short while, you realise it is so rewarding and I just really enjoyed it, the process from finding a candidate to placing them is very satisfying!
What would you say to anyone looking to start their career in recruitment and why?
You are speaking with different people about different jobs every day, and you learn so much about different trades and industries. Find a sector that interests you and you’ll get to do something you enjoy every day. It’s incredibly important to find the right agency for you and your ambitions and that’s what I’ve found at E3 Recruitment.
