E3R is hosting the Yorkshire launch of the Made Equal Campaign which will focus on diversity and inclusivity with the aim of increasing productivity, profitability and future-proofing workforces within manufacturing.
The event will take place at E3R’s head office in Lindley, Huddersfield on Friday 21st February 12pm – 2pm and will include talks and discussions around diversity and inclusivity, and will provide an opportunity to network with fellow manufacturers and share best practice, with lunch included.
E3R is a patron of the Made in Group, and have partnered to relaunch the campaign, following the success of the Inclusivity campaign in 2018, which resulted in E3R receiving an Inclusivity Award for their work undertaken in this area, presented in the House of Lords.
Across the UK manufacturing and engineering sector, there are widespread concerns around the diversity and equality. From an ageing workforce and an insufficient number of skilled people, to the lacking number of woman and individuals from diverse backgrounds or with disabilities. It’s crucial we target these strong talent groups to improve productivity and grow more quickly.
By having an inclusive and diverse workforce, manufacturing organisations can benefit from a variety of views and perspectives, allowing them to find more creative solutions and harness different talents to be more successful. Not only is it proven that organisations that are more diverse and inclusive perform better and are ultimately more profitable, nowadays many suppliers will only work with buyers who have a clear and identifiable inclusion and diversity policy.
E3R Director Andrew Joseph commented: “Being a specialist recruiter for the manufacturing and engineering sectors across the UK, we know from working closely with our clients that being inclusive and diverse remains a priority, with gender equality, the skill-gap, and the ageing workforce being just a few of the issues they face. This is why it is important we host events like Made Equal for manufacturers to share best practice.
“We pride ourselves on our inclusive working culture and stakeholder engagement, which was recognised by E3R receiving an Inclusivity Award for our work undertaken in this area and testified by the latest results of our employee engagement survey. Externally working in partnership with our clients and candidates we offer a range of services which support inclusivity, including unbiased job advert writing, CV assistance, interview tips, career guidance and attend careers fairs.”
