Over the last year, our Chemical & Pharmaceutical Recruitment Division has grown significantly. Welcoming several new consultants and opening a new office in London dedicated to supporting our pharmaceutical clients in the south of the UK.
Recently we welcomed new Senior Recruitment Consultant, Sean Turner to the team. Sean will be working alongside Business Sector Manager, James Travis, to provide support in recruiting the best chemical and pharmaceutical engineering, manufacturing, and project talent across the industries.
As always, we enjoy getting to know our new starters and catching up with them to see how their first few months have been. Read below to find out more about Sean and his role within E3 Recruitment.
Can you give us some background on your career and what led to you joining E3 Recruitment?
Before joining E3R, I followed in my Grandads footsteps of becoming a chef working in accoladed kitchens across Yorkshire.
My start in recruitment began when a previous Head Chef of mine had reached out to me as he and his business partner had begun their own recruitment business, from that moment on I have been working in recruitment and haven’t looked back since.
After working for 6 years for the company, I knew I wanted to find a new challenge to progress my career in the future. When I saw that E3 was recruiting I didn’t hesitate to send my CV across and was lucky enough to join the team!
Tell us something interesting about yourself!
Within my time of being a chef, I was lucky enough to have worked with and met a range of celebrities such as James Martin and The Hairy Bikers, I even cooked breakfast for Sir Patrick Stewart!
How has your first month been?
My first month at E3R has flown by! From walking into the office on my first day I was already made to feel like I was a part of the team as everyone was so friendly and gave me loads of guidance and support.
The welcome packs, in-house training and opportunities for future growth was already demonstrated within my first couple of weeks. I am excited to push myself to see what I can achieve with the support & professionalism I have already been shown from all members of the E3R team.
Tell us about your role and responsibilities in the Chemical & Pharmaceutical Recruitment team.
I have a very hands-on role working at E3 recruitment and look after all aspects of a recruitment process from assisting candidates in finding them their dream job to also building new relationships with Hiring Managers and assisting wherever they may be struggling within their recruitment.
To be able to accomplish this, it is all about understanding and listening to what both the Client and candidates are searching for. The next stage is to utilise our extensive in-house database, specialist marketing department and advertising platforms to find the perfect match but that’s not the end. From there I also make sure to keep all parties updated on a regular basis including checking in on any successful placements to see how the Hiring Manager and candidate are settling in with their new position but also ask how they are, innkeeping with building a strong relationship with all parties.
What aspects of your role are you most excited about and what are you looking forward to?
In my role, I am looking forward to gaining a better understanding of recruitment within the Chemical & Pharmaceutical industry, however saying that within my first month I have already noticed my knowledge increasing with the brilliant support of our Business Sector Manager, James Travis. I also can’t wait to get more involved with speaking and building future relationships with both candidates and clients.
What would you say to anyone looking to start their career in recruitment and why?
Recruitment is a very rewarding industry to be involved in, for anyone looking to get started I would highly recommend it, you will be a part of a close-knit team who you’ll build great friendships with.
There is so much potential for career growth, every day you will learn something new, as not one day is the same as before.
