E3 Recruitment (E3R) is proud to have received an Inclusivity Award at the House of Lords for the inclusivity work the agency has conducted both internally and externally.

Earlier this year E3R launched a project to increase the number of females applying for roles by removing gender bias from job adverts. Increasing the number of females working in engineering and manufacturing continues to be an industry wide ambition, and over the past few years this has been driven forward with companies driving campaigns to make this happen.

The introduction of the in-house training platform, E3T, highlights best practice amongst the teams and draws on the skills of each person – creating a truly inclusive induction and training programme.

E3R Director, James Soden and Head of People and Organisation Development, Chrissie Gale attended the House of Lords to receive the award which was presented by Baroness Lorely Burt.

Commenting on the award win James Soden said: “Increasing the number of females working in the industry remains a priority for our clients and by removing gender bias from a job advert is a tool which will assist this effort. In 2019 we are hosting an event for our clients to share our research on gender bias adverts and how to remove that bias as well as focus on closing the pay gap.”

Chrissie Gale added: “It is of paramount importance that people at E3R have a desire to continually develop and support each other. Every single person at E3R excels in at least one area and we turn that into mentor support.”

The Inclusivity work done forms part of the Inclusivity Campaign, an initiative to make the engineering and manufacturing sector more inclusive, diverse and ultimately more competitive, which is being run by Made in Yorkshire.
